The PEI Provincial Nomination Program (PEI PNP) facilitates the immigration of foreign nationals on the basis of their skills and prior experience.
The skilled and experienced candidates who have applied for immigration under this stream may get a provincial nomination certificate. After being certified, they may apply for a Canadian permanent residence.
Applications under the following categories are accepted under PEIPNP:
Candidates residing in PEI and are eligible to apply for the express entry immigration system may apply under this category. The candidates with relevant and required skills may be considered, and their application would be processed in six months or less.
The individuals possessing the required skills and experience are needed in the labor markets of these Atlantic Provinces. This category is further divided into three streams-
For this stream, the candidate must have a job offer from the provincial employer or a job in the province. They must have relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or diploma.
The foreign workers whose employers want to sponsor them for permanent residence, even of the unskilled profession, may apply under this stream.
Under this stream, the candidates wishing to invest in a PEI business should be working in Canada on a work permit before receiving a provincial nomination.
There are labor shortages in the Atlantic provinces of Canada. They work with the Canadian government to recruit foreign nationals in their job markets. The candidate may be residing abroad or temporarily in Canada at the time of applying for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, but he/she must have an employment offer from a designated employer.
