WORK IN CANADA

Work in Canada

Canada’s economic success is pretty for business. However, for foreign workers and employers, it is still important to follow through the proper mediums before temporary employment in Canada may. Also, it is not only challenging for people to find jobs here in Canada but also for employers to find suitable workers. With its low unemployment rate and to grow a strong national workforce, Canada rely on foreign intake of talents today.

This section will help you know the most up-to-date information about working in Canada.

In most of the cases, a work permit is required by foreign nationals to work here. However, a foreign worker may work here without the permit under exceptional conditions.

Authorization from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), otherwise known as a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is needed to employ a foreign worker by the Canadian employers. They need to demonstrate and prove how hiring a foreign worker would not have any negative impact on Canadian Labor and also, that there is no suitable Canadian candidate to fill this job up. The process of approval is subject to a high level of scrutiny from the government. Hence it should be done without errors.

Although the LMIA process is the rule, there are exemptions to it as well. Canadian employers need not have the LMIA authorization if the foreign trade agreements like North American FTA enables foreign workers to work here. There are a number of options here to work here for those who do not have a job offer, such as working holidays, post-graduate work permits, and open spousal work permits.

These are just some of the work scenarios and situations that take place in Canada.
