Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP)
Newfoundland is the island, and Labrador is the Atlantic province connected to the mainland in eastern Canada. The province is rich in natural resources and energy. The NLPNP is the Provincial Nominee Program through which the skilled foreign workers are hired.
The skilled and experienced workers may submit their applications under the following immigration categories.
NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR EXPRESS ENTRY SKILLED WORKER
This stream operates along with the conditions of the federal Express Entry immigration system. An expression of interest is required under this category. The candidates receiving a nomination from this province will be awarded extra points under CRS.
The candidates who have received a job offer for a permanent full-time job from the provincial employer and the ones who are currently working in the province under a work permit are eligible to apply under this class.
Students who graduated from a recognized institution in Canada and have attained a PGWP, a job of their study field, or a job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer; may apply under this category.
The entrepreneurs who want to settle their business or purchase a business in this province on a temporary work permit may apply for a provincial nomination under this category.
The international students who have graduated from the institutions in Newfoundland and Labrador and are willing to operate a business in this province may apply through this pathway.
Atlantic Immigration Pilot program
There are labor shortages in the Atlantic provinces of Canada. They work with the Canadian government to recruit foreign nationals in their job markets. The candidate may be residing abroad or temporarily in Canada at the time of applying for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, but he/she must have an employment offer from a designated employer.
