The Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) is a requirement for the temporary workers and students to reside in the province of Quebec. It aims to welcome 7,000 international candidates by 2021 through AIPP. It is issued by the Quebec Ministère d’Immigration, Diversité et Inclusion (MIDI)
Temporary Foreign Workers in Quebec
The CAQ issued to the employers hiring a foreign worker on a temporary permit ensures that their recruitment will not have any negative impact on the labor market. However, CAQ is not required, if the duration of the job is lesser than 30 days.
It must be noted that the employer is not exempted from the LMIA process (in cases of the job not exempted for an LMIA) if he/she has obtained a CAQ.

The individuals intending to study in this province need to obtain a CAQ before applying for the study permit to the Canadian federal immigration authorities.
