You may be entitled to work while studying, depending on your choice of a study program.
The study permit allows full-time students to work off-campus every week for 20 hours during the academic session and full time during academic breaks. They do not need to apply for a separate work permit. For this, the candidate must be enrolled in an academic, vocational or professional course of at least 6 months or more and must be a degree, diploma or certificate program from a designated institution. The international students need to fulfill the eligibility conditions of their study permit and must obtain a Social Insurance Number (SIN) from Service Canada. If these students do not satisfy the conditions, they may be subject to action enforceable by IRCC. International students who are studying French or English as a second language or are in a preparatory course are not eligible to work while studying in Canada.
